1. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Contact details — your names, email address and suburb or venue location.
  • Wedding details — your event date, ceremony and reception venues, preferred timeline, key family members and bridal party names, and any special cultural or religious requirements relevant to filming.
  • Enquiry details — the content of messages you send through our quote form, contact form or by email.
  • Billing information — details necessary to issue invoices and receipts. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
  • Supplier and contractor details — information about videographers, editors and assistants who work with us.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health information) unless it is reasonably necessary for filming your wedding day and you have consented, for example by telling us about accessibility needs or cultural protocols.

2. How we collect your information

We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable, including:

  • when you complete the quote request form on quote.html;
  • when you send us an enquiry via contact.html;
  • when you email us at [email protected];
  • during planning meetings, venue walk-throughs or pre-wedding consultations;
  • when you engage with our social media pages.

We may also receive personal information from third parties you authorise, such as your wedding planner or photographer, where it is needed to coordinate filming.

3. Why we collect your information

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information so that we can:

  • respond to enquiries and prepare quotations for our wedding videography and film services;
  • plan, film, edit and deliver your wedding film;
  • manage bookings, contracts, invoicing and payment;
  • coordinate with your other wedding suppliers;
  • showcase our portfolio, where you have given permission;
  • comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations under Australian law.

If you do not provide the personal information we request, we may be unable to provide our services or respond to your enquiry.

4. Wedding footage and images

Your wedding film is personal information because it contains your image and voice. We treat all raw footage, edited films and stills captured during your wedding as confidential.

  • We will only use your footage to produce and deliver the films you have commissioned.
  • We will never publish, share or feature your wedding film, highlights or stills publicly without your prior written permission, which you may withdraw at any time before publication.
  • Guests captured incidentally in your footage are recorded as part of filming the event you engaged us for; we encourage couples to let guests know a videographer will be present.
  • Raw footage is retained securely in accordance with our retention schedule and our Terms of Service.

5. Disclosure of your information

We only disclose personal information where it is necessary to provide our services or required by law. This may include disclosure to:

  • our editors, second shooters and assistants, strictly on a need-to-know basis;
  • cloud storage, backup and file-delivery providers that host your footage and galleries;
  • our accountant, bookkeeper and professional advisers;
  • payment processing providers, to receive payment for our services;
  • your wedding planner, photographer or venue, where you have asked us to coordinate with them.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers we use, including cloud hosting, backup and software platforms, may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles that information in accordance with the APPs, including by selecting reputable providers with strong privacy and security commitments.

7. Direct marketing

We may occasionally send you information about our services, seasonal availability or portfolio updates if you have consented or would reasonably expect to receive such communications from us. Every marketing email includes a simple unsubscribe option, and you may also ask us at any time to stop contacting you by writing to [email protected]. We will action opt-out requests promptly and free of charge.

8. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site and to improve your browsing experience. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being set; however, some parts of the site may not function fully without them. Analytics data is reported in aggregate and is not used to identify individual visitors.

9. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include password protection, encrypted storage, restricted access for team members and secure disposal practices.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations (including tax record-keeping requirements) and to maintain our wedding archives. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

10. Access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. To make a request, email [email protected] with details of the information concerned. We will respond within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days. There is generally no charge for access or correction requests; if a reasonable administrative charge applies, we will tell you first.

11. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can resolve the matter quickly and fairly. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it thoroughly and respond with the outcome and any proposed remedy.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. The OAIC is the independent regulator responsible for privacy in Australia; contacting the OAIC is entirely a matter between you and the regulator and does not involve us handling your complaint.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal obligations. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of the latest revision shown at the top. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
